*** Minutes Meeting of 11 May 2010 ***

The meeting was called to order by Commander Richard Floyd at 1405

There were 16 members and 2 guests present.

Proper opening ceremonies were held. Roll call of officers - all present.

The Adjutant read the minutes of the 13 April 2010 meeting.
The minutes were accepted as read.

Treasurer Paul Curry presented the treasurers report for this period.
The report was accepted as read.
There were no outstanding bills.

Chaplain John Seaman reported that one member passed away.
Wallace Marcum age 60 of Inverness passed away on 23 April 2010.
There was no report of sickness.

Membership Chairman Archie Gooding reported that although we have 709 members, 404 live in the immediate area.

Guests Willie Tully and Lloyd Kurrasch were introduced.

Service Officer Bill Geden reported that 136 veterans were being fed thru the food pantry.
He reported that the food pantry has been removed from the food bank rolls because the system was being operated out of a private home (his), a violation of the food bank rules.
There was a brief discussion on the homeless in the county.
The Commander reported that in a discussion with the county (namely Brad Thorpe) endless complications arose over locating a storage shed for the food pantry on the DAV property.

The Commander reported that a letter has been sent to the state DAV that the existing van be transferred to the Chapter for disposal upon arrival of the new van.
Richard Hunt reported that in a conversation with one of the van drivers, the existing van has an ongoing repair history.
Joe Stephens turned over numerous checks totaling $2,165.00 for van donations to the treasurer.
John Skjefte recommended having an ongoing fund raiser for future van replacement.

A second nomination of officers for the 2010/2011 year was held.
There were no additional nominations from the previous month.
The Adjutant cast one vote for the nominees.
They were: Commander - Richard Floyd,
Sr. Vice Commander - Archie Gooding,
Jr. Vice Commander - John Skjefte,
Treasurer - Paul Curry,
Chaplain - John Seaman, and
Sgt. At Arms - Neville Anderson.
The new officers were sworn in by Lloyd Kurrasch of Chapter 96.

Neville Anderson, chairman of the Sunshine Fund read the proposed rules for the fund.

Being no other business, proper closing ceremonies were held and the meeting was adjourned at 1450
